I first heard the Dead Milkmen from some tapes lent to me by Rustle Noonetwisting: Millersville Delivery from the early 'Bitchin' Camaro' era, and the Summertime Sampler of earlier home taped curiosities recorded over 'Agriculture in the South,' stolen from. This album really needs a deluxe vinyl edition with those 2 songs added, a gatefold cover you can open up to see the whole lizard (like on the cassette version), a poster, and maybe even a second disc with demos, outtakes, & live versions Come on :-D. The album received strong reviews, with critics singling out 'Bitchin' Camaro', calling it 'hilarious' and 'career-making.' Maximum Rocknroll wrote that 'these 20 satire-laced songs are real crack-ups, and backed up by tight playing that incorporates funk, country, and lots of other styles into their punk approach.' Spin called the album 'frenetic goof pop,' writing that it's 'full of the kind of scruff-and-tumble guitar and funtime lyrics that made 1977 punk such a refreshing blast.
